Microneedling
WHAT IS MICRONEEDLING?
Microneedling is the insertion of very fine and short needles into the skin for the purpose of rejuvenation and improving overall skin appearance. This minimally invasive cosmetic procedure treats skin concerns by creating controlled micro-traumas to the skin and stimulating collagen production, also known as collagen induction therapy. This treatment can help to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, acne, melasma, age spots, under eye bags, scars, stretch marks and overall complexion. Microneedling encourages blood circulation to the face helping to flush out any fluid build up and create healthier blood flow resulting in clearer brighter skin. Additionally, microneedling has also been known to improve hair growth. And if that wasn't amazing enough microneedling will also increase serum absorption by 3000%!
Microneedling is a great option for those looking to achieve smoother, firmer and younger-looking skin, with very minimal post-treatment downtime. A microneedling course of treatment for the face is suggested every 4-8 weeks for a series of 4-8 visits. This allows the skin to take its time to heal between sessions. In between these sessions it is recommended to have facial acupuncture for those are interested in addressing skin conditions such as sagging skin, and nanoneedling for those who want to work on complexion, fine lines and under eye bags. (check out our packages below). For hair treatments we recommended 2-4 treatments a month for the best results
WHAT IS NANONEEDLING?
Nanoneedling uses the same device as microneedling but with a silicone tips that do not penetrate the skin. It is more gentle for those who have thinner skin or are just generally more sensitive and do not feel comfortable with microneedling. Nanoneedling is safe for those who might have some conditions that are contraindicated for microneedling such as: autoimmune disease , anemia, or high blood pressure
As with any treatment, results vary from patient to patient based on age, lifestyle and skin conditions before the treatment is performed. Because Nanoneedling does not penetrate the skin and does not require any recovery time so this procedure can be done more often. This is a great treatment between microneedling and/or cosmetic acupuncture treatments for maintenance. The recommended treatment plan is 1-2 times a week for a series of 8-10 visits for under eye bags, fine lines, wrinkles, and sagging. Nanoneedling also increases serum and product absorption by 97%.
single sessions of microneedling or nanoneedling must be paid at the time of service. All microneedling and nanoneedling packages must paid in full at the time of the first appointment . Please be sure to disclose your history of facial procedures as well as health conditions as this type of treatment is not suited for everyone.
Please be advised that this treatment is not appropriatefor everyone.
This procedure is not recommended for those who are pregnant, who have had recent facial surgery, fillers or injections. Areas that have been treated with botox or implants should be avoided.
If you are experiencing a cystic acne breakout, eczema or psoriasis it is recommended to do a series of LED light therapy treatments prior having microneedling.
Other contraindications include : keloidal tendency, herpes, those with, local infections, wounds, rash, or warts. Those who have autoimmune conditions, bleeding disorders, are on blood thinners/ anti-coagulants, have anemia, or those on chemo or radiation therapy.

Often, some positive results can be observed within a week of the first treatment, and collagen continues to rebuild for approximately 3-6 months afterwards. Using these multiple modalities and alternating them can help speed up the process of reaching your optimal results.

What should I expect right after a microneedling treatment ?
Micro-needling isn’t invasive like plastic surgery, so the recovery time is minimal. We ask that for two-three days there is no sun exposure and no Retin A use for up to 2 weeks. Synthetic products with fragrance must be avoided for the following week, and sunscreen resumed a few days after treatment to protect the skin from sun damage if outdoors.
You may notice skin irritation and redness within the first few days following the procedure. This is a natural response to micro-needling, and is best cared for with a roller, and hyaluronic acid which is complimentary with your session.
Immediately following your treatment, you should avoid putting anything on the face, exercise and sun exposure all together and only wash your face with cold water for 24 hours. After 24 hours you can resume your regular skincare routine but be sure to use sunscreen. Your skin can take up to three sessions to see results but some notice a more radiant glow days or weeks following the first visit. You should avoid direct sun exposure for the next 7 days.
Are there any side effects, or risks?
Like all cosmetic procedures, micro-needling isn’t without risk. The most common side effect is minor skin irritation and redness immediately following the procedure. You may also see redness for a few days. Call your doctor if you notice more severe side effects, such as: bleeding, bruising, infection or peeling.
How should I prepare for a microneedling treatment?
Before the procedure, talk to your doctor about ways you can prepare so you have the best possible outcome. You may need to stop taking certain medications, such as ibuprofen and those for acne treatment, well in advance of the procedure.
